Who we are
Consecrated women at the service of Christ in the poor.
We are the Servants of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and of the Poor, a religious congregation founded in response to the suffering of the most abandoned. Inspired by Saint José María de Yermo y Parres, we consecrate our lives to loving, repairing, and serving the Heart of Jesus through a life of faith and service.
Through prayer and action, we seek to serve Christ in our brothers and sisters, especially the poor, fostering charity, dignity, and hope wherever we are sent.
The Foundation
Born from compassion and trust in God.
Our Congregation was born on December 13, 1885, in León, Mexico, from a simple and compassionate response to the suffering of the poor. Saint José María de Yermo y Parres did not set out to found a religious institute, but to meet urgent local needs with charity and faith. Accompanied by a small group of women willing to give their lives in service, this humble beginning was sustained by prayer, sacrifice, and trust in God’s providence, becoming the seed of a growing Congregation.

Our Charism
A life shaped by mercy, love, and service.
Our charism is the living expression of the spirit of our Founder, shaped by configuration with Christ, the Servant and Merciful One. It is lived through a spirituality of love and reparation, and through evangelical service to the poorest and most needy, responding to their suffering with faith and compassion.
From the beginning, by the will of our Founder, the Congregation was placed under the protection of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Trusting fully in His mercy, our community was born with humble human means but with unwavering faith, confident that love drawn from the Heart of Christ would sustain and guide its mission.
The merciful love that flows from the Heart of Jesus calls us to be God’s merciful presence among others. This mercy is first lived within our community and then radiates outward to the poor entrusted to us, to those who suffer, to those far from God, and to all who are in need of His infinite mercy.
